How to Join

New members are accepted during the first two classes at the beginning of each beginners course, which generally corresponds with the start of the Indiana University semester.

To join, all you have to do is show up at one of those first two classes of the beginners series – those first two classes are free. Membership fees are due at the third session if you decide to join, and last for the duration of the current semester.

Who can Join?

Membership is open to IU students, faculty, and staff, as well as community members. We do not discriminate based on color, disability, ethnicity, gender, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

Membership Fees

For Fall 2021 semester only, membership fees are $15 for IU students and $25 for community members

    • IU students: $35

    • Community members: $45

Membership fees are due on the third class of each semester. Payment of this fee entitles you to join all classes during the semester that correspond to your ability. Fees go towards maintenance costs for the group, rental of space for practices and open dancing, and hosting a salsa fiesta each semester. Ritmos Latinos is an all volunteer organization; all fees go back into benefiting the club and its members. Fees are not related to the number of classes attended and cannot be pro-rated or refunded.

Attendance

Because learning rueda de casino is a cumulative process, with each week's lesson building off the one before, we stop accepting new members after the second week of each session (we offer three sessions per year, so if you miss one recruitment period, there will be another one starting within a few months).
